Children are very important to us at FUMC. We offer a variety of activities and experiences to assist children in their spiritual journey. Activities are designed to promote fun and fellowship but most of all spiritual growth.
We are committed to provide a spiritual foundation that will guide children on their faith journey; helping them to grow in their faith and in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Wednesday Night “KidMania”
Children ages 3 yrs old through 5th grades, Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm. We will be using the “Hands-On Bible” curriculum which provides an age-appropriate, interactive and fun way to learn about God’s word.
Nursery/Childcare
At Florence UMC our nursery is one of the most important ministries we offer. We strive to provide our infants and toddlers a safe environment to begin life’s journey and to learn of God’s love.
Our nursery is open during all church services and most meetings and special events.
If your family or organization has a special need please contact the nursery director, Tracy Hare, for assistance. (tracy@florenceumc.com)
To arrange child care for your meetings, activities, etc., please contact Tracy Hare (Nursery Director) at least one week prior to your meeting. You can reach Tracy at 859-746-2201 or tracy@florenceumc.com. You may also use our online Nursery Request Form. Please include the date and times that the nursery is needed, the number of children that you need care for and their ages.

Acolytes
Being an acolyte is a wonderful way for children to serve their church. This important part of the worship service is an opportunity for 4th graders and up to participate in the worship service. To become an acolyte, the child must attend a brief training offered in the summer. Other training times may be scheduled with the Children’s Ministries director. Contact the church office for more information.
Kids Own Praise (Children’s Worship)
Kids Own Praise occurs in both 9:00am and 11:00am w
orship services right after the children’s moment, downstairs in the Children’s Chapel (L9). Children 4 years old through 3rd grade are welcome to attend this worship which helps them to worship in ways that children experience their world: art, singing, games, and laughing.
The first Sunday of each month, just as in Worship in the Sanctuary, the children have an opportunity to enter into the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
