MOMS Next is offering a support group open to all mothers of school-age children (Kindergarten – High School).
Our group meets Thursdays at FUMC from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. September through May. We have four meetings each month that follow this format:
1st Thursday – Speaker
2nd Thursday – Children of the Bible (Bible/Book Study)
3rd Thursday – Lunch Social
4th Thursday – Potpourri Activity
Childcare is available during each of the meetings.

OUTREACH PROJECT:
While our MOMSnext group is new, we have the opportunity to join a book ministry that began many years ago. In 2002, a group of moms decided they wanted to give one book to each child at one of the lower income schools in Boone County. The ministry began with second and third graders at Kelly Elementary and is now serving all the children at Kelly, Collins, Florence, Burlington and Ockerman Elementary. Some of you may have children attending one of these schools who have received a book brought to them from someone helping with this ministry. For some children, the book they receive through this ministry will be the only new book they own. This ministry is funded by two book sales, held at Florence UMC, and your support by purchasing books for your personal use. Each sale assists in earning points which are used to purchase books for donation. We will have Scholastic fliers available at each of our meetings. Feel free to use these to place an online order or call our book ministry coordinator with an order.
FEES FOR MOPS INT’L MEMBERSHIP:
Our group is part of MOPS International (http://www.mops.org/) Our members receive membership benefits from MOPS International that are relevant to mothers with school-aged kids. For the 2011-2012 membership year you will receive a MOMSnext reusable shopping bag, MOMSnext Iron-on Appliqué, MOMSnext stickers and monthly MOMSnext e-zine. The cost of the MOMSnext membership is $23.95.
