FAQ's about FUMC
Here at Florence UMC we want to make it easy for you to come and join us for worship.
We want you to experience great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and an atmosphere of fellowship.
But we know that any new situation brings up some questions. If you don't find an answer to your question please contact us.

What types of Worship Service’s do you have?
- The first Worship Celebration begins at 9:00 AM. and is a more traditional worship style with responsive readings and music from the hymnal.
- The second service begins at 11:00 AM. This service while still having a traditional aspect, consists of praise music, a praise band, and more contemporary elements.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.
"The Sacrament of Holy Communion in the United Methodist Church is open to everyone.
You do not have to be a member of the United Methodist Church or this local congregation.
We invite all to participate in this Sacrament and receive the grace God has available for you."
When is Sunday School?
Sunday School for all ages begins at 10:00am and ends at 10:45am.
What’s available for my children?
Children are very important to us at FUMC. We offer a variety of activities and experiences to assist children in their spiritual journey. Activities are designed to promote fun and fellowship but most of all spiritual growth. Children's Ministries.
Is there a Youth Group for my teenager?
Youth at FUMC are divided into Middle School and High School groups. Both groups meet on Sunday night, and each group also takes a Mission Trip during the summer. Youth Ministries
What’s available for my family?
Florence United Methodist church offers many different ministries for many different people. We have ministries for all members of the family. Ministries For You
Is there a nursery available for my children?
Nursery and Childcare is provided for children up to 1st grade during both services and during many of the activities at FUMC.
What should I wear?
Wear what's comfortable. It's not uncommon to see someone in jeans sitting next to someone in a suit.
