MISSIONS
Praise the Lord for Mission Serving and Giving
We serve Christ through missions around the world
and in our back yard !
- Heifer Project - Florence UMC has given many ARKs over the years. An ARK is two of every animal.
- United Methodist Committee on Relief - UMCOR - currently supporting Haiti ($7000 +) & other projects around the world
- Ida Spence Mission Many groups at Florence UMC support Ida Spence Mission.
The Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Missions Team combine to offer many children's activities.
Whatever is done for the children at Florence UMC (Easter Egg hunts, VBS, Fall Festivals, etc.)
is duplicated at Ida Spence. They are the children in need in our "backyard!"
- Sunday Night Live at Grace Mission in Covington
At least once a month our Missions Team with the help from many groups provides the Sunday Night Live Meal
for over 200 people living around the church or on the streets of Covington.
- United Methodist Children's Home in Wilmore, KY
Every fall, the Beacon Sunday School sells nuts with all the profits going to the Children's Home.
On Fifth Sundays, a special worship offering is taken for the UM Children's Home.
- Habitat for Humanity Build
Every year, several area churches combine their efforts to build Habitat Houses.
The past few years we've built three each time! (yes... three in one day each year!)
