Youth Ministry

Youth Programs

Youth programs and events are designed for current middle and high school students (6th-12th graders) to have a place to come together to build friendships, explore faith and have fun together.  Youth leaders are available to help support students as they grow and explore their faith during this season of life.  If you have specific questions about our youth programs, please contact our Associate Pastor and Youth Minister, Rachel Wallace at rachel@florenceumc.com.

Youth Group

Youth Group meets Sunday nights from 5:00-7:00 pm, during the school year.  Please check the calendar for the kickoff date for the new academic year.  Each week at youth group, we come together for food, devotion, games and small group time (students generally divide in smaller groups for discussion).  The small groups are designed to give both middle and high school students a place to ask questions about the faith, study and share prayer concerns.
All 6th through 12th graders welcome each week – and encouraged to bring friends!  Come join us for  fun, laughter and worship on Sunday nights!!!

Sunday School

Each Sunday, about 10 am (between our two morning worship services) middle school and high school students are invited to join Sunday School for a time of discussion and Bible-based study.  Middle and high school groups meet separately.  For specific class locations, please stop by the Visitor’s Center or stop by the Youth Room on the Lower Level of our building.

Wednesday Night Life Youth

Wednesday Night Life (WNL) provides another opportunity to get to know one another at Florence UMC!  Fall and Spring sessions of WNL are 6-8 weeks in length and offers dinner and Bible-based study together.  Check the church calendar for specific dates and times for each semester’s program.  WNL is a great place for friends to come for a short series to get to know everyone at Florence UMC a bit better!

Confirmation

Confirmation is open to anyone in the seventh grade and above. Through confirmation, the participants learn and reflect on basic beliefs of Christianity, learn about the beliefs specific to The United Methodist Church, and make a decision of professing faith in Jesus Christ. They confirm their decision in front of the congregation, recognizing God’s love for them and striving to live a life obedient to God’s vision for the world.
Watch the bulletin and Community Connection for the next confirmation class coming next Spring!

Youth Drama

Looking for a unique youth ministry? Come join us! Youth Drama is an opportunity for young people to get together and “act up for God”. We practice skits, and sometimes even perform in front of the congregation! Practice will be Sundays from 4:30-5:00 pm. All 6th through 12th graders are welcome.
