Attending In-Person Worship at Florence UMC

Thank you for your interest in attending in-person worship at Florence UMC. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we resumed in-person worship on June 14, 2020. Since that time we have had no known incidences of Covid-19 spread at our worship service. On Sunday, November 29th Florence UMC began offering two in-person worship services to further have the ability to spread out our worshipping community. As health guidelines in our community will continue to evolve through the Covid-19 pandemic, our in-person worship guidelines may also change. Please check here for the most up-to-date information.

  • Online Worship will continue to be available and live-streamed beginning about 10 minutes prior to Sunday morning worship service.
  • In-person worship will be offered, at 9 am (Traditional Service) and 11 am (Contemporary Service), with overflow seating located in our new building space, when needed
  • Masks will be required to be worn at all times inside the church building, for those 2 years and up
  • Ushers will direct you to Sanctuary seating for worship
  • Family groups will sit together
  • You may only sit with people who also live in your household
  • Non-household units will be seated 6 feet apart
  • Bulletins, hymnals or Connection Cards will not be available
  • Lyrics will be on the screen
  • Children’s Church is offered during our Contemporary Worship Service
  • Nursery will be open for those 4 and under. Children may remove their mask while inside the nursery space.
  • Children will remain in their seats during the Children’s Moment portion of the service.
  • Offering boxes will be available at the entrance of the Sanctuary and a traditional time of offering will be removed from the order of worship
  • Greeting time will also be removed from our order of worship
  • No in-person Sunday School for any age, although children, youth and adults are encouraged to participate in our online and video-based options
  • The coffee/donut ministry will be suspended
  • It will be expected that all persons planning to attend in-person worship feeling the least bit under the weather or showing any symptoms of COVID-19 would absolutely stay home and participate in online worship.
  • It will be expected that any person with knowledge of exposure to Covid-19 within the past 14-days will not attend in-person worship, and instead, worship online.
  • We will check everyone in for attendance so that we have a record of who is worshipping with us in order to be in communication with them when necessary.
