Florence KIDS

Florence KIDS serves children from birth – 5th grade.

Children are very important to us at FUMC. We offer a variety of activities and experiences to assist children in their spiritual journey. Activities are designed to promote fun and fellowship, but most of all spiritual growth. We are committed to providing a spiritual foundation that will guide children on their faith journey; helping them to grow in their faith and in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Covid-19 Update

Please note, during the COVID-19 pandemic many of our kids programs have been paused. Pastor Anna has safe activities planned to help support families grow their children in faith.
Children and adults are required to wear masks during Children’s programming, with the exception of athletic-based activity.
Please contact Pastor Anna about current programming.

Safe-Sanctuary Policy

It’s important for parents to note, that Florence UMC follows Safe-Sanctuary policies to help ensure the safety of children and at-risk adults.  Please read more information on these guidelines here.

Nursery

Our loving nursery staff provides our infants and toddlers a safe environment to begin life’s journey and to learn of God’s love. Our nursery is open during all church services, and for some groups, meetings and special events. If your family has a special need, please contact our Children’s Pastor.

Preschool & Elementary Students

Sunday School
Each Sunday, children who are three years old through 5th grade are invited to Sunday School which takes place between our Sunday morning worship services, from 10:10-10:50 am.  Sunday School classes are arranged by age/grade and all classes spend time learning through a story, craft and/or activity.  The curriculum is designed for a variety of learning styles to help children experience the Bible in ways they can understand.

Toddlers (18 months to 2 yrs) meet in the Nursery on Sunday mornings, but also participate in Sunday School activities.  These include a Bible Story, an active game, a snack, arts and crafts, and songs of praise.

Children’s Bible Study
During special multi-week sessions throughout the school year, Bible Study for children is offered for children. These programs provide an age-appropriate, interactive study of God’s word through music, games, crafts, and fellowship.

Acolytes
Being an acolyte is a wonderful way for children to serve their church. This important part of the worship service is an opportunity for 4th graders and up to participate in the worship service.  To become an acolyte, the child will attend a brief training when they are ready to serve.

FUNtastic Friday
1st-5th graders are invited to participate in this monthly fellowship activity during the school year.  FUNtastic Friday brings kids together for a night of gym class type games, fun and pizza.  Check the church calendar for the latest date.  To receive text reminders for FUNtastic Friday sign up for text messages here.
